Your Blackout Weekend Guide to Plan B (That’s Still Amazing)

Blackout Weekend is coming in hot! We know life happens, work gets busy, the group chat goes quiet for a week, and suddenly you realize Blackout Weekend is around the corner and you haven’t locked in your plans. The good news? You can still make this happen! We’re here to show you how. Even though some exclusive offers have closed, there are still great ways to lock in your plans and join the experience.

If You Missed The Hotel Block: Hotel Stays Still Within Reach

Missed the Blackout Weekend hotel block? The two host hotels may still have rooms available at the standard rate, so it’s worth checking availability.

Another strong option is Golden Nugget, located next door to Caesars Republic and directly across the street from Harrah’s. You’ll still have easy access to Blackout Weekend activities while staying right in the action.

Party Bus Sold Out? Travel Options That Still Work

If you’re coming from the Bay Area, Amtrak is still a smooth way to get to Tahoe. Multiple Bay cities offer train service to Sacramento, followed by a connecting bus to the South Lake Tahoe Transit Center (SLH). From there, it’s just a 3 to 4 minute walk (or a quick Uber ride) to the host hotels.

Traveling from outside the Bay Area? The best route has always been flying into Reno (RNO) and grabbing a seat on the South Tahoe Airporter shuttle, which stops directly at the host hotels and keeps your arrival easy and stress-free.

Lift Tickets + Snow Gear

Missed the exclusive Blackout Weekend lift ticket rate? You can still book directly with Heavenly, but here’s the move: Book ASAP! Rates climb significantly as the trip gets closer, so don’t sleep on this.

And here’s what you CAN still snag: Blackout-discounted gondola rides and equipment rentals.
