Get the Epic Pass Before It’s Gone 11/16/25
Max Your Blackout Weekend on the Slopes! Why get an Epic Pass for Blackout Weekend
If you're coming to Blackout Weekend to ski or snowboard, the smartest move you can make right now is to grab an Epic Pass or Epic Day Pass before the season starts. Pre-season pricing is limited and once it's gone, it's gone — you won’t be able to buy these passes later in the season.
Why a Pass Is Better Than Lift Tickets
Buying day-of lift tickets from the mountain can get expensive fast. An Epic Pass or Epic Day Pass locks in lower pricing now, so you're not paying premium rates later.
- Better value than lift tickets: Pre-season pass pricing is usually much cheaper than buying individual lift tickets.
- Flexible options: Choose an Epic Day Pass if you're only riding a couple of days. You can use it all at one mountain or use different days at different mountains
- Access to multiple resorts: Heavenly, Northstar, and Kirkwood (Tahoe area) are all on Epic. Plus a network of national and international resort locations. Pick the level that works for you.
- Look for additional discounts and perksPasses usually include additional discounts for on mountain dining or other perks.
- Payment Plans Available Convenient payment plan options at checkout
Who Is This For?
This pass is perfect for green beginner to advanced skiers and snowboarders who plan to ride during Blackout Weekend and want full-mountain access. It’s especially ideal if you:
- Typically buy lift tickets per trip.
- Have an Ikon or other local mountain pass but want access to the Tahoe-area Epic resorts (Heavenly, Northstar, or Kirkwood).
If you’re a day-one beginner planning to take lessons through the resort, you don’t need a full Epic Pass — there’s a separate beginner lift ticket available that gives you access to the learning area and is bundled with lessons. It’s the best option if you’ll be spending your day on the beginner terrain with an instructor.
About the 32-Resort Option
If you're just coming out for Blackout Weekend and don’t need the biggest, all-season pass, you can choose the Epic option that covers 32 resorts. Since Blackout Weekend does not fall on a peak date, you can use it for this trip without any blackout restrictions.
Important: This Is a Limited Pre-Season Buy
Epic Passes are only sold before the season starts. Once we get deeper into the season, these pass options are no longer available. That’s why we’re encouraging Blackout Weekend attendees to secure their pass now — you’ll have better pricing and more flexibility.
Bottom line: If you know you’re riding during Blackout Weekend, buy your Epic Pass or Epic Day Pass now so you’re all set.
