Blackout Weekend brings together an amazing mix of professionals, creatives, and adventurers from all over. Everyone comes ready to vibe, connect, and enjoy the experience in their own way. Experienced skiers and snowboarders come to ride with others who match their energy (if that’s you, check out the Blk+Blu Society), while first-timers and the ski-curious come to learn, level up, or just enjoy the winter vibe on their own terms. With a great balance of mountain time and après energy, it’s perfect for friend groups who want to mix and match their days and still link up for the fun. It’s a 21+ event, but trust it's a grown and sexy good time whether you’re here for the slopes, the socials, or the style—we guarantee you’ll be in good company and have a great time..
Absolutely. Some come to shred the slopes, others come to shut down the dance floor. Whether you're all about après-ski or strictly après, Blackout lets you do it your way.
Not at all! While Blackout Weekend celebrates Black culture and community, it’s open to everyone who respects the space and comes with positive energy. If you’re down for the vibes, you are welcome to attend!
Each event has its own vibe. Some parties are chill and cozy, others are full-on fly—so pack a few standout fits. You’ll also want to bring gear for snow activities and keep an eye on the forecast. Some years feel like spring, others are a straight-up winter wonderland. First time attendees often find it warmer than expected, but temps can swing. And since some events are indoors and others require walking between venues, layers can be your best friend—especially if you're not staying at the host hotel. We’ll drop packing tips and style guides closer to the trip but also feel free to ask a vet or check out pics from past years.
Yes! Whether you're rolling deep with your crew or flying solo, you're in good company. Blackout Weekend is all about good vibes, new connections, and shared energy. Many people come solo and leave with a whole new tribe.
It’s the vibe. From curated events to culture-driven energy, Blackout Weekend blends the thrill of the mountain with the soul of a great party. It’s not just a trip—it’s an experience built around connection, community, and unapologetic fun.
Not at all. Once you're in town, everything Blackout-related is walkable—from the host hotel to the parties, lifts, and lounges. In fact, parking is limited at some venues, so we recommend skipping the car if possible.
Most venues and events are within walking distance of the host hotel, so you won’t need a car once you arrive. For anything a little further out, you have options: Lake Link is a free, on-demand shuttle service that runs daily in the South Lake Tahoe/Stateline area. Just download the Lake Link app, request a ride, and get picked up curbside. It’s a great way to get around safely and conveniently—especially late at night or in bad weather. Uber & Lyft are also available, though availability may be limited during peak weekend hours—so plan ahead if you’re venturing outside the core Blackout area.
Bringing your gear? No problem—just plan ahead: Airlines: Most major airlines treat ski and snowboard bags as standard checked baggage. You can usually check one bag with your board or skis and one boot bag as a set, but policies vary, so double-check with your airline before flying. Shuttles & Party Bus: Both the South Tahoe Airporter and the Blackout Party Bus allow ski and snowboard gear—but space is limited, so pack smart and compact. One ski/board bag and one boot bag per person is ideal. Packing Tips: Keep your gear bag light enough to lift and load yourself, especially if you're riding the party bus, which does not include luggage assistance.
If your flight doesn’t align with the South Tahoe Airporter schedule, you still have options: Private shuttle services (like Tahoe Sierra Transportation) offer flexible pickup times—just be sure to book in advance. Rideshare apps like Uber or Lyft are available from Reno-Tahoe International Airport, though wait times and fares may vary depending on the day and time. Rental cars are also available at the airport if you prefer to drive yourself—but keep in mind that parking at the host hotel and venues is limited and may include paid lots. You likely won’t need your car once you're on the mountain, as most Blackout Weekend locations are walkable. We recommend checking the South Tahoe Airporter schedule before booking your flight to keep things easy—and car-free—once you arrive.
Parking is available at the host hotels and some event venues. Parking may be limited or reqire a daily or hourly fee. Be sure to check individual venue's parking policy in advance. If you're driving up, we highly recommend carpooling or using the Blackout Party Bus or shuttle options to avoid the hassle.
If you're flying or driving, monitor weather alerts closely and be flexible with your travel plans. If you’re driving, carry snow chains—they may be required by law during winter storms, and law enforcement will turn vehicles around without them. We strongly recommend travel insurance and building in buffer time when booking flights or shuttle connections, just in case of delays.
Staying at Harrah’s or Caesars Republic (formerly Harvey’s) means you’re in the center of it all—steps away from official events, ski shuttles, the gondola, and the party scene. One of the biggest perks? The two hotels are connected by an underground hallway, so you can go from one to the other without stepping outside—a major bonus during cold nights or late-night events. Plus, it makes wristband pickup, meetups, and spontaneous turn-ups that much easier.
Both hotels are cnvenient options so it comes down to preference. Harrah’s features two full bathrooms in every room, which is a game-changer if you’re sharing. It also hosts more of the weekend’s latenight events, making it a top pick for those who want to be closest to the party. Caesars Republic offers a newly renovated experience with modern finishes, elevated dining options and easy access to everything happening throughout the weekend.
Parking is available at the host hotels and some event venues. Parking may be limited or reqire a daily or hourly fee. Be sure to check individual venue's parking policy in advance. Booking link information is coming soon. Rooms must be booked directly through the provided links to access exclusive rates.
You can still attend all Blackout Weekend events with a valid wristband, but you’ll miss out on the convenience of being walking distance to everything. If you're offsite, you’ll need to plan your own transportation—and parking near events is very limited. Staying at a host hotel makes it much easier to bounce between events, connect with other attendees, and enjoy the weekend to the fullest.
If you missed the booking deadline or rooms at Harrah’s and Caesars Republic under the blackout rate are sold out, you may still be able to book directly through the hotel at regular rates—just know that prices may be higher and availability limited. Rooms at our host hotels usually sell out early, so we recommend booking as soon as possible. Closer to the event, we sometimes share links to recommended nearby properties for those still looking to stay close to the action. Keep an eye on your email and the event app for updates.
Yep! If you want to level up your experience, we’ve got you. As long as the upgrade tier isn’t sold out, you can boost your wristband for more access, more fun, and more bragging rights until the upgrade deadline before the trip. After that any upgrades will need to be handled onsite. Check your customer portal via the link in your confirmation email.
Your wristband unlocks access to the full Blackout Weekend experience. Depending on your tier, you'll get entry to our signature events—day and night—including welcome mixers, high-energy parties, curated socials, and immersive nightlife experiences. Higher tiers come with added benefits like VIP access, reserved seating, and priority check-in, so you can enjoy the weekend with even more ease and exclusivity. While your wristband covers the core of the event, travel, hotel accommodations, and snow activities are not included. This flexible setup gives you the freedom to handle those details your way—while knowing your entertainment and connection are covered. Select experiences like our premium brunches, party bus, and other special events are available as add-ons. These are designed to enhance your weekend, offering even more ways to elevate the vibe. You’ll find a full breakdown of what’s included with each wristband tier in the cart at checkout.
Absolutely. We get it—flexibility is key. Secure your spot now and break up the cost over time with one of our payment plan options. Just make sure to stay on track—missed payments can cancel your ticket (and we don’t want that for you). Visit OUR PAYMENT PLAN INFO PAGE
Wristbands are picked up on-site during registration hours, which will be shared in your welcome email and the event app. You’ll need a valid ID and your confirmation to check in—no wristbands are mailed in advance, so plan to arrive early and start your weekend right.
Wristbands are multi-day and give you access to the full Blackout Weekend experience— we don’t offer single-event tickets. That doesn’t mean you have to do everything (unless you want to!). Wristband holders can come to as many or as few events as they like, but having one keeps the door open to it all. This setup not only keeps things seamless for you—it also helps us stay compliant with local and venue rules. Plus, it ensures everyone on-site is part of the same community vibe, whether you're hitting every party or picking your moments.
Yep! We get it—plans change. If you need to pass your wristband to someone else, just follow the posted transfer process by the deadline for a fee-free switch. Late transfers after that date will come with a fee, so don’t wait if you know you can’t make it. Only completed purchases can be transferred, and it’s up to you to find your lucky replacement. Just be sure to follow the steps—we’ll make it smooth from there.
Yes! We offer group packages —whether you're celebrating a birthday, planning a reunion, or just want to roll VIP-style with your people. Group options include access to wristbands, and premium perks curated to make your weekend seamless and unforgettable. Check out the GROUP INFO page.
Hold onto that wristband like your weekend depends on it—because it does! Wristbands are your only way into events, and unfortunately, we can’t replace lost or damaged ones. If it’s gone, it’s gone. We strongly recommend securing it comfortably on your wrist and not removing it for any reason. Treat it like your festival passport—once it's on, it stays on.
Not at all! Whether you've already been out a time or two or you're just ski-curious, Blackout Weekend is built for everyone. Beginners can feel confident to learn or improve via lessons (check resort for pricing), and veterans get to push their skills with a crew who rides just like them.
Tahoe is known for its world-class snowboarding and skiing—but that’s just the beginning. You can snowmobile, go tubing, snowshoe across scenic trails, or lace up for a spin on the ice rink. Prefer a chill day? Try a scenic gondola ride, a sleigh ride through the snow, or post up fireside with a hot cocoa and a view. There’s something for every kind of winter mood.
